Ultrasonic application: level in cans
With miniature ultrasonic sensors levels in small cans can be measured as well. The sensor is mounted vertically above the vessel. It scans the surface of the can content independent of its material and determines the distance by a time of flight measurement of sound. Depending on the version the sensor exits a binary (can is full or not full) or analogue signal (0…10V or 4…20mA). Thus one can measure the level in millimeters or just detect whether a predefined level has been reached or not.
2 sensor families are available:
- for distances from 50…500mm
- binary output
- for Distances from 20…200mm
- by choice binary or analogue output
- version available with FOCUS Beam for particularly narrow containers
